Of course, I come from a small town too, so it's quite possible that I've known his reincarnation (since small towns all have the same characters!).Jayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13158409505328990008noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9922132.post-1116330862261878632005-05-17T07:54:00.000-04:002005-05-17T07:54:00.000-04:00Trevor: I've literally met 1000's of people, I'm t...Trevor: I've literally met 1000's of people, I'm trying here to pull out a select few, give you all a 'taste' of who they are, and what knowing them meant in my life. I have no doubt you can keep up!! It's not like it's the "Chronicles of Riddick" or anything!! :)

Braleigh: It's pretty easy to 'forget' those who've had an impact in your life, easier still to forget to ever let them know. This is an interesting journey for me, I hope you all continue to enjoy my tales, I assure you they are all true, to the best of my recollection!!

Thanks again to you both, for reading, and your encouragement!Billhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07338910000372628114noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9922132.post-1116322038391568212005-05-17T05:27:00.000-04:002005-05-17T05:27:00.000-04:00That was a very good tale. Very admirable that you can attribute the nature of the roots of your achievements and personality to the external and not-so-evident influences that too many people completely overlook.Risuhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05882640814114412051noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9922132.post-1116304770827965162005-05-17T00:39:00.000-04:002005-05-17T00:39:00.000-04:00How am I supposed to keep up with the chronicles o...How am I supposed to keep up with the chronicles of Bill? I like the imagery of these words "the welds on a lot of structural beams inside you were made with their torch".

It's so true, and a big part of why I started writing this series. I have folks tell me, and fairly often, that I'm a 'sef-made' man. While I've done a lot on my own, when I really think back, there are so many people who lent a hand along the way.

I guess I'm just trying to give them a little credit, as they're each due that.

Thanks again for reading, and your continued encouragement.Billhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07338910000372628114noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9922132.post-1116282937207267902005-05-16T18:35:00.000-04:002005-05-16T18:35:00.000-04:00Bill,There are people you meet along the way that ...Bill,

There are people you meet along the way that become part of your "Personal Mythology", I think. They have something about them--often things we wish we had in greater abundance--and they make these huge impressions on us. Even when they're far away or long gone, their impression sticks with you. You find yourself telling almost as many stories about them as you could tell about yourself, and realize that the welds on a lot of structural beams inside you were made with their torch.

Good story, and thanks for continuing to post such personal tales for us.Patrick M.
