Taxes…

Most years we have a refund coming, so, the tax thing is over for me long before this.

I spent the morning, working on our return, and this year, the good news is that I have enough money to pay the tax bill and make a contribution to the retirement bucket.

I’m still working on part#3, I’ve just had a lot of other demands on my time this week. Hopefully, later today, or tomorrow I’ll finish it up and get it posted.

Right now, I’m going to go enjoy some of this great spring day!! I hope you do something similar!

We got our taxes sent off a couple of weeks ago. Got a refund this year, but just a small one. Steve and I both worked enough overtime last year to bump us up into another bracket, which I guess is a good problem to have (*laugh*) but it gets kind of nerve wracking around tax time!

Liz - Trust me... if I had a dollar coming back, I would have e-filed over a month ago! As it is, the real highlight will be if I can use a credit card to pay the bill and get points!! :)

It's been years since I got a refund! Just as well, I guess, because I always just blow it on something totally unnecessary.

Lorna - I suspect that once I either stop working full time, or become totally self-employed again... refunds will be a thing of the past as well!!

I just got sort of used to them over the past decade or so!

Hey, Bill. I'm sorry that I've been so snowed under by this project at work (retirement looks good about now). I have a tax bill this year, too. Combined with the two mortgages, it ain't fun.

I hope to get to your parts 1, 2 and 3 soon. Take care.

No refund?
Tax lesson #27..."The government pays you to have a Schedule C." Or "No one with a Schedule C pays taxes".

Gonna have to work on this Bill!

CA - I hear ya brother... work has just been crazy busy at this end too! I'm not getting around to blogs as I'd like.

Re: the tax bill... I'm of the belief that I'd rather owe a bit, than not have the income!

Greg -My friend, you are definitely the king when it comes to tax minimization.. I've just never had your tolerance, or gift, for maximizing the laws to my advantage… One of these days maybe I’ll have the time, and the inclination!
