I hate computers!

I'm writing this from my backup PC, well actually the *new* PC I got last fall, because 'old faithful' died last night.

I had Spirit of Owl's tag all done but that PC is suffering from a terminal hard drive, and until I can get it copied and back together that post is lost in an inaccessible, magnetic storm of zeros and ones.

With any luck I’ll manage to get it done tonight, but most likely it will be tomorrow before its ready…. The truth is I’m still debating getting a new PC or replacing the drive… research… time… and G-d I hate replacing a PC!

I’ll try and get back later and let you all know where I stand.

Is there a graveyard for old computers?

*snicker* The graveyard exists. It is a horrible place in the storage boxes of techies everywhere.

Good luck Bill! You see, fish eyes and paint tack things are amusing to me, and make for great stories I love to read, but in the end it turns out that a failing hard drive is a drama I really understand! LOL

Not laughing really... :D No, really... !!!

We depend upon them so much (I do for my work) and when they malfunction, there goes our day, hour and sometimes job!

Good luck...

When computers die they go to technopolopis, city of the perpetual bluescreen.

Just park it outside in the driveway, Bill...lol. At least it won't leave an oil stain.

I recommend a new one, they are so much faster and cheaper than redoing anything almost.

Computer Problems, that's my middle name. Well, actually, it's Ann, but I'm sure that's sanskrit for Computer Problems. I feel your pain!

Everyone... there is a graveyard for old PC's.. it's my office!

I put all the drama I could in todays post... I hope the 'stress' came through.

This kind of stuff usually doesn't happen to me as I rotate out PC's every 18 months or so... this one, has been sooo good though, I've put off it's rotation... dumb, I know... but hey, I'm not earning when I'm working on 'my' stuff.

Braleigh, I have 3 PC's in my office, plus my Laptop, and another brand new one in my wide's office.

Their tools to me, if they don't work, I don't get paid, so it's not all it seems.

Again, thank you all for your support, empathy and words of encouragement.

It really means a lot!

I hate computers, too, Bill. When it comes to hardware (and a lot of software), I'm lost. That's why it's so funny when people, once they find out that I'm in IT, want me to help them with their computers.

Comfort Addict: I hate them *because* I work with them... I'm a software developer, not a hardware guy. I can write software that manages huge companies... but tell you why your HD ate your term paper? No clue :)
